PacSports, Chevy awaiting outcome
WITH the Budweiser Baseball League and Little League tournaments completed, the lit lights at the Paseo Stadium could only mean that the Guam Masters Baseball League is in action.
On Tuesday night, the league played its final game as a champion was to be decided in the Panak Division. The Chevy Silverados were looking to dethrone the two-time defending champion PacSports Giants.
At the end of the night, the scoreboard reflected the Giants walking away with an 8-6 victory. However, a celebration was at hand as a champion in the league has yet to be crowned due to the game being played under protest. According to league officials, protests were filed during the game by both teams and have yet to be resolved.
Despite the news of a champion not being crowned in the Panak Division, there was a happier note on the evening as the Guantis Division was able to recognize their champions in an awards ceremony that took place immediately after the game. The Yona Masters were crowned the champions in their respective division after defeating the Triple J Blue Jays on Monday night.
