THE Asan Rai defeated the Santa Rita Braves 8-5 Monday night at the Paseo Stadium in Guam Masters Baseball League action.
Asan scored four runs in the top of the first to take a 4-1 lead after one inning. Santa Rita came back with two runs in the bottom of the third and two more in the bottom of the fourth, but that would be the end of the scoring for the Braves.
Asan’s Vince Quitugua hit a two-RBI double to left in the top of the seventh to secure the win for the Rai.
In the nightcap, the game between the Kosrae Masters and Pohnpei Masters had to be suspended due to unplayable conditions after rain showers in the middle of the fifth inning halted play.
Kosrae has the 11-10 lead with GMBL officials slating the continuation of the game at a later date.
