THE Guam Masters Baseball League returned to action at Paseo Stadium Monday night with two games on the schedule. In the first game of the night, the Yigo Hunters took on the Yona Red Hawks. Using their offensive weapons, the Hunters made quick work of the Red Hawks and picked up the 16-4 victory. The game was called early via the league's 10-run mercy rule.

Yigo immediately loaded their guns and jumped out to a huge 9-2 lead after three innings of play. The Red Hawks made strong efforts to battle back against their opponents. However, two runs were all Yona could muster up to the fourth inning.

The Hunters zeroed in on their opponents in the final innings of play and scored seven unanswered runs to put the mercy rule in effect. Knowing that the Red Hawks were capable of battling back, Yigo buckled down on defense and retired the Yona side in their final chance at bat to end the game.

Yigo starter James George had a solo home run in the top of the second and went the maximum four innings from the mound giving up just two runs and two hits for the win. Tenson Ludwig suffered the loss for Yona.

The Hunters' Joey Lupola was 2-for-3 with a double, five RBIs, and two runs scored. The Red Hawks were led by Vic Fernandez who went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Triple J vs. C.T.D. Adahi

In the final game of the night, the Triple J Blue Jays poured out the offense against C.T.D. Adahi and came away with the 15-4 win. Triple-J’s James Brady Duff led the offense going 3-for-3, a triple, two RBIs, and three runs scored. C.T.D. Adahi’s Luke Tedtaotao was 2-for-3 and a run scored. Paul Diego took the win, while Sonny Cruz suffered the loss.
