IN THE first game of a doubleheader at Paseo Stadium, Guahan Old School used the last three innings to hold off the Kosrae Masters 10-3.

It was a pitching battle between Guahan starter Lynnwood Baker and Kosrae starter Aliksa Robert as the two pitched the maximum four innings with Kosrae in the lead 3-2 after four complete innings.

Kosrae reliever Alik Skilling got touched up for two runs in the top of the fifth, five in the top of the sixth, and another run in the top of the seventh.

Guahan reliever Eloy Fujikawa pitched the last three innings without giving up a run to help secure the win for Old School. Guahan’s Paul Untalan was 4-for-5, a double, three RBIs, and a run scored.

In the nightcap, the ACI Masters edged out the Santa Rita Braves, 11-9.

Both starters got hammered early with Santa Rita’s Tony Lizama giving up seven runs in the bottom of the first.

ACI starter Gerald Castro gave up nine runs in just two innings of work. ACI added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth as time expired after the two-hour and 15-minute time limit.

ACI’s Bob San Nicolas was 2-for-3, one RBI, and two runs scored. Santa Rita’s Melan Borja was 2-for-3, two RBIs, and a run scored.

The GMBL schedule continues on Saturday, May 5 at Paseo Stadium with Asan Rai against the Kleene Guard Cardinals at 10 a.m.; the Tamuning Twins and Yona Red Hawks at 12:30 p.m.; the PacSports Giants and Yona Masters at 3 p.m.; the M-T-M Falcons and Triple J Blue Jays at 5:30 p.m.; and the ACI Masters and Guahan Old School wrapping it up at 8 p.m.
