Golden Hoops completes third week of competition

THREE weeks into the tournament and things in the Golden Hoops Classic 2012 Spring Tournament presented by Aloha Maid and Bank of Guam are shaping up to be filled with fun and competitive excitement combined at the Tamuning Gym. This past weekend, several games on the schedule gave family, friends and fans many reasons to cheer about.

In the 30 plus competitive division, Team Fire Club garnered a win against the Inarajan Hawks by squeaking by 49-44. Team Fire was led by the hot-shooting Sandy Fejeran who dropped a game-high 28 points. For the Hawks, Carl Lizama led the way, scoring 16 points in the losing effort.

Other results

18 plus competitive division: Four Stars Club edged out SkyHigh Club 39-34; Inarajan Hawks earned a five-point (46-41) victory over Bank of Guam Club; the Tamuning Typhoons doubled up on Defenders Club 100-50; and DLX/NBF defeated Thunders Club, 68-60.

30 plus competitive division: The Tamuning Typhoons cruised by Defenders Club to pick up the 81-52 victory.

40 plus competitive division: Guam Legends fell victims to the Tamuning Typhoons I 51-34; and Team Fire Club fought off the Tamuning Typhoons II for the double-digit (61-41) win.

Open recreation division: Guam Radiology Club defeated Fuetsa Club, 33-22; and the Bud Light Mystics fended off a tough Ada’s Trust team for a 41-37 victory.
