GPD investigating graffiti tagging spree in Dededo

THE last thing any owner of a new car would want to see is graffiti spray-painted all over their hard-earned money.

But that’s what happened to Dededo resident Peter San Nicolas who was shocked to find graffiti on his new Toyota Tacoma truck outside his house located along Delores Street.

San Nicolas came home at midnight and parked his truck right outside the concrete wall fence of his home. He didn’t notice anything unusual until he walked out of the house in the morning.

San Nicolas believes the suspects who tagged his truck may have done it early in the morning.

“I came out at about 7:30 a.m. or 7:45 a.m. and I noticed that crazy thing painted on my car,” he said.

San Nicolas decided to drive to the Dededo Precinct but then noticed some police officers at the Central Medical Clinic talking to someone who had also reported graffiti spray-painted on the walls and the concrete wall fence outside the clinic as well as two other vehicles that were nearby.

“That area is supposed to be quiet. The suspects must be doing it early in the morning,” he said.

San Nicolas also noticed an apartment complex with the same type of graffiti he found on his truck and the walls of the clinic building.

“My truck is pretty new. It’s only a month. I got it in May,” he lamented.

The Variety spoke to acting Guam Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Liz Flickinger who said police are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, San Nicolas hopes the suspects are caught. “If this is a group they really need to be cracked down. They can have a wall to themselves if they want to do graffiti, but not a vehicle,” he said.

Because of what happened, he’s going to park his vehicles inside his gate.

“I don’t feel safe now,” he said.

Cultural expression of class envy, not to mention room-temperature IQ.
