AN INVESTIGATION is ongoing into a scooter accident that occurred near the Inarajan pools.
Acting Guam Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Liz Flickinger said the incident occurred late in the afternoon and involved a man who was reportedly not wearing a helmet.
A towel and rag with blood, a zori, and a huge blood stain could be seen along the roadside next to a set of rocks along Inarajan Bay near the popular swimming area.
The driver of the scooter, a 21-year-old man, was transported to Naval Hospital but then taken to Guam Memorial Hospital.
A nursing supervisor said he was brought into the emergency room at around 3:15 p.m. The man was reported to be in serious condition.
GPD's Highway Patrol Division is investigating the incident to determine if speed and/or alcohol were factors in the accident.
