AN 18-year-old man has been arrested for entering an unlocked hotel room and allegedly stealing a bag.

Guam Police Department acting spokesman Sgt. Mike Aguon said two people entered the room at the PIC Resort in Tumon around 2:50 a.m. last Friday and allegedly took a bag from within a closet by the front door.

“The victim was asleep at the time when he was awakened by the noise from the closet door. He thought it was his roommate because he left the door unlocked with the latch out, preventing the door from closing,” Aguon said.

“The victim noticed the roommate did not enter so he got up and checked the closet and discovered his bag missing. He looked out into the hallway from his room and saw the two suspects with his bag and gave chase,” he added.

One of the suspects reportedly threw the bag on the ground. The victim then retrieved the bag, returned to his room, and called the front desk to report the incident. It was later discovered that between $150 and $190 was stolen.

Hotel security later provided video footage revealing two male individuals walking into the room and later running from the room.

Officers were able to identify one of the suspects as Larrin Ehmes Kelly. He was later located and arrested. He was charged with burglary, theft, criminal trespass, and conspiracy. He was booked and confined.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call GPD at 472-8911 or Guam Crime Stoppers at 477-HELP (4357).
