AN IPAD app helped police apprehend a suspect who allegedly stole the tablet from a home in Toto recently.
Kelvin Mario Williams, 19, was charged with burglary as a second degree felony and theft of property as a third degree felony.
On June 12 at around 1 a.m., officers from the Hagåtña Precinct met with the victim who said that around 8:40 p.m., he received a call from a security company that his house alarm was activated. The victim came home and discovered his iPad was missing.
He used a global positioning system application to track the tablet and was able to locate his iPad at a residence that was nearby.
Officers went to the house the iPad was believed to be located in and interviewed Williams, who admitted he had the tablet. But when asked to surrender the iPad, Williams said he threw it in the jungle outside the house. The iPad was recovered.
Williams later admitted he went to the victim's home and took the iPad.
