A FUGITIVE wanted in Colorado for the alleged sexual assault of a child was picked up just before the weekend by the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force or Taotao Mo’na Task Force.

Jim Richard Hockett was reportedly on the run since December 2009 and has since then been living on Guam.

He was found in Harmon Industrial Park by officers based on information provided to them by the U.S. Marshals Colorado Task Force.

On April 2, U.S. Marshals on Guam were contacted by the Colorado authorities and notified of Hockett’s location. He surrendered with no incident.

Hockett is wanted for five counts sexual assault on a child and five counts sexual assault on a child in a position of trust in Arapahoe County, Colo.

Annually, investigations carried out by the U.S. Marshals result in the apprehension of approximately 34,000 federal fugitives. More federal fugitives are arrested by Marshals than all other federal agencies combined.

The Guam Taotao Mo’na Task Force is comprised of law enforcement officers from the Judiciary of Guam Marshals, the Department of Corrections Parole Office and the Guam Police Department.

The task force’s objective is to seek out and arrest violent fugitives, both local and federal.

Last year, the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested more than 27,000 state and local fugitives on felony charges.
