THE A.B. Won Pat Guam International Airport ranked fifth overall in the Top U.S. Ports in International Arrivals, according to the latest statistics report released by the U.S. Travel and Tourism Industries.
The February 2012 year-to-date report shows Miami, Fla. topping the ranks; New York, N.Y. coming in second; Los Angeles, Calif. coming in third; and Honolulu, Hawaii in fourth.
Falling short behind Guam is San Francisco, Calif. in sixth, and Newark, N.J. in seventh.
According to GIAA, Guam has been gaining in its reputation as a preferred destination, having moved up in rank from eighth in November 2011 to sixth in January, and to fifth overall in February.
“The airport will continue to be as cost effective as possible for our airlines, who, in turn, will increase their services and offer other options or destinations for the region and the people of Guam,” GIAA Executive Manager Chuck Ada said in a statement.
