OFFICIALS from the Guam Fire Department and the Guam Police Department are appearing before the Committee on Public Safety today to give a status briefing on their respective agencies.
GFD is scheduled to go first before the panel at 9 a.m. in the public hearing room.
GFD officials are expected to discuss with lawmakers the status of ambulance services, leased ambulances, the procurement of more ambulances, and the status of billing services.
The department will also discuss its budget for Fiscal Year 2013, the Community Firefighter Reserve Program, and the status of the 30 firefighter recruits.
The committee reconvenes at 1:30 p.m. for GPD’s status briefing.
GPD’s top brass are expected to present an update on the Civilian Volunteer Police Reserve and Community Assisted Policing Effort.
GPD officials are also expected to provide a support plan for the Guam Community Police Review Commission.
Both status briefings will be televised live on MCV Channel 13 and GTA GudTV Channel 21.
