Who’s paying for the water?

  • PDF

AS A Guam resident, I've noticed private company trucks delivering bottled water to GovGuam locations. Perhaps others have seen this as well. I've wondered if I'm actually paying for this.

I understand that delivered 5-gallon containers cost about $4.50 each. However, GWA says their water is perfectly fine to drink. So, why aren't all GovGuam offices drinking tap water?

If GovGuam employees are paying for this water from their own wallet, I have no objection. If not, it seems to me an unnecessary burden upon the private sector taxpayer to have to pay for this.

Will any journalist take a close look at this and tell Guam residents what's really happening? Is the treasurer of Guam writing checks for this, thus spending taxpayer dollars?

Do Gubmint employees go to grocery stores, Cost U Less with a purchase order and buy coffee, creamer, sugar, Oreos, Chips Ahoy, Famous Amos, donuts, sweet rolls etc.

Do they go to a local bakery and buy a sheet cake for the office monthly birthday parties, going away party, got promoted party.

Water, coffee, food, ice cream, cakes, morbid, obese folks waddling around in zorries......

Happy Landings

That's a great point! GG employees work for the taxpayer. They are supposed to use taxpayer $ as prudently as possible.
